Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, and Mrs. Yacine Fal, Special Representative of the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) for “the Africa Investment Forum” (AIF), co-chaired, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, a meeting to officially launch preparations for the organization of the 5th edition of the AIF, to be held from December 4 to 6, 2024, in Rabat.
On this occasion, the Minister welcomed the choice of Morocco to host the 5th edition of the AIF, in recognition of the remarkable success of the 4th edition, organized the previous year in Marrakech, under the high patronage of his majesty the king, may God assist him.

Mrs. FETTAH emphasized that the AIF 2024 will be organized in a specific national context marked, in particular, by a major investment drive in anticipation of hosting the 2030 World Cup, in parallel with the acceleration of the implementation of large-scale projects in various promising sectors, such as renewable energies, seawater desalination, agricultural development and financial services.

In this respect, the Minister indicated that the AIF 2024 would be an ideal opportunity to share with African partners the Kingdom's expertise and know-how in developing the above-mentioned sectors, and to showcase the “Success Stories” of the exemplary cooperation between the AfDB and Morocco.
For her part, Mrs. Fal thanked the Moroccan authorities for their commitment to the organization of the 5th edition of the AIF, which constitutes a privileged platform for channelling private capital into development projects in priority areas for the African continent.

In this context, the AfDB head expressed the personal commitment of the AfDB President to establish all the conditions required to make the 2024 edition of the AIF a success worthy of the Kingdom's ambitions. In this respect, Mrs. FAL pointed out that action had been taken since the beginning of the year to ensure broad participation by CEOs of major multinational corporations, and to identify transformative project proposals that would be likely to attract investor interest during the transactional sessions scheduled as part of the Forum.

The meeting was attended by senior officials representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, the Ministry of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco, the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, Casablanca Finance City Authority and Africa50.
For its part, the AfDB was represented by a high-level delegation including Mr. Max Magor Ndiaye, Senior Director of the AIF, Syndication and Financial Solutions Department, Mr. Achraf Tarsim, Country Manager of the AfDB Office in Rabat and Mrs. Elizabeth Liga Mutia, Protocol Officer.
