Mohamed BOUSSAID meets with Mr. Volkmar Wenzel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Morocco

Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, met, Tuesday, December 22nd, 2015 at 15:00 at the headquarters of his department, with Mr. Volkmar Wenzel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Morocco, to discuss the broad lines of the special funds amounting to € 471M that the Federal Republic of Germany made available to the Kingdom of Morocco within the framework of the financial and technical cooperation.
 

These funds are intended to fund projects under the climate protection and adaptation, particularly through further development of renewable energy as well as the promotion of employment in rural areas and the integration of migrants at municipal level.

At this meeting, the Minister of Economy and Finance recalled the exceptional financial and technical cooperation with Germany and welcomed the regularity and density of this cooperation that is becoming more and more intense and deep over the years. He also stressed that these funds will enable the continuation of the implementation of major projects that are in line with the national priorities of renewable energy and the protection and climate adaptation.

​ ​ On the other hand, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany stressed the interest of German authorities to financial and technical cooperation with Morocco and noted in this context that Morocco is at the forefront among Germany's partners in the region while indicating that his country supports all initiatives to make this cooperation more effective and more focused on the main development objectives of Morocco. Finally, Mr. BOUSSAID and Mr.WENZEL welcomed the level and quality of cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Germany and reaffirmed their common wish to further develop and strengthen it in various key common areas.
