Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, represented the Government of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, during the celebration of the 76th Europe Day, which took place this Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Hassan II Park in Rabat, alongside Mr. Dimiter TZANTCHEV - Ambassador of the European Union to Morocco, as well as several members of the European diplomatic corps accredited in our country.
During her speech, the Minister notably recalled that Morocco, under the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, has made rapprochement with Europe a firm, irreversible, and uncompromising strategic choice. A decision based on responsible dialogue, mutual respect, and common interest.
In this regard, she emphasized that the commemoration of Europe Day symbolizes the quality and depth of the unique relations maintained between Morocco and the European Union, forged through more than half a century of cooperation, dialogue, and trust.
The Minister also pointed out that the year 2026 marks an important milestone in the positive momentum of Moroccan-European relations, illustrated in particular by the holding, last January in Brussels, of the 15th session of the European Union-Morocco Association Council. This is a major political moment that reaffirmed the privileged nature of this partnership and enshrined the shared ambition to elevate it to a higher level through the prospect of a future comprehensive strategic partnership between Morocco and the European Union.
Finally, while praising the quality of the cooperation and the substantial support provided by the European Union to the Kingdom’s priority projects, the Minister indicated that the relationship with the European Union has never been perceived as a simple donor-beneficiary relationship, but rather as a relationship of trust, oriented toward the future, in favor of shared prosperity and serving Moroccan and European citizens alike.
