The opening session of these meetings was marked by the royal message that His Majesty addressed to the participants in this important event, and which was given by Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government.

The joint annual meetings of the Arab financial institutions include the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Arab Monetary Fund, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development and the Arab Corporation for the Guarantee of Investment and Export Credit. These meetings were devoted to the discussion of many items relevant to the activity of these institutions, the most important of which was the approval of the annual reports and the financing activity of the Arab financial institutions.

About 400 Arab finance ministers participated in these meetings in their capacity as governors of their countries in the Arab financial institutions, governors of Arab central banks, delegations of Arab member States, chairmen of the boards of directors of the Arab financial institutions and their chief executives, and representatives of regional and international organizations.

On the sidelines of these meetings, the 14th session of the Council of the Arab Ministers of Finance was held. It was devoted to the examination of some economic and financial issues of current interest in the Arab region, with the participation of Arab ministers of finance and representatives of regional and international institutions. During this session, the Minister made a presentation on the issue of strengthening the mobilization of domestic resources in the Arab countries. She also reviewed the experience of the Kingdom of Morocco in developing and strengthening the mobilization of domestic resources through structural reforms implemented under the royal patronage, aimed at consolidating the stability of the financial and economic sectors of the Kingdom of Morocco.

At these meetings, the Minister held bilateral talks with the Ministers of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Egypt, as well as with the Minister of International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss economic, financial and investment cooperation relations and ways to develop them.

The Minister also held bilateral meetings with the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the Acting Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Development, the Vice President of the African Development Bank for Finance and the Director General of the OPEC Fund for Development. They discussed ways to develop financial cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and these entities.
