Mr. BOUSSAID participates in the meeting of the Finance Ministers of the countries of the Compact with Africa

Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, took part on Wednesday, September 06th 2017 in Accra, in the meeting of the Finance Ministers of the Compact with Africa (CWA).
The (CWA) was launched following the conference of the G20-Africa partnership held from June 12th to 13th in Berlin and the meeting of the G20 which took place from July 07th to 08th 2017 in Hamburg. The aim of this meeting is to help the Africa Compact countries improve their macroeconomic, business and financial frameworks to attract private investment, strengthen the financial and public sector’s debt managements as well as encourage the private investments of the G20 countries.
During this meeting, the Finance Ministers of the (CWA) countries reviewed the key role of the Compact in the agenda of collective economic changes of Africa and ways to overcome a number of challenges in terms of its implementation. They were called to express their commitment and support of the Compact Agenda, to assess progress made to date and define next steps, including a peer-learning framework to address common challenges over the next three years. This meeting was an opportunity for Finance Ministers of the (CWA) countries to discuss ways to take advantage of the Compact with Africa, to make sure that a platform is set to accompany and sustain this initiative in strengthening private sector.
Moreover, the Finance Ministers also ensured that the (CWA) will be translated into a real action and encourage private sector investment in each CWA countries.
