The Ministers of Economy and Finance, Labour and Vocational Training, Industry, Commerce and New Technologies, and the presidents of AMITH (the Moroccan Textile Industry Association), FEDIC (the Moroccan Leather Association), AMICA (the Moroccan Association of automobile industry and commerce), textile and leather GIAC (the Grouping of professionals of the industry sector`s consultancy services), and IMMEE GIAC (this includes the grouping of associations of mechanical and metallurgical industry, AMICA, AMGE (the Moroccan Association of Energy Management), Pharmaceutical Industry Association, FCP (Chemical and Para-chemical Association), signed an agreement to implement a training initiative to assist exporting enterprises in textile, leather and automobile industry. The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Economy and Finance on Wednesday, April 29th, 2009.
This agreement, which follows a master agreement signed on February 24th, 2009 between the government and the CGEM (the Association of Moroccan Enterprises) and GPBM (the Association of Moroccan Banks), aimed at assisting exporting firms in textile, leather and automobile equipment. The agreement is designed to preserve existing jobs and expertise, and maintain the position of these enterprises at the international level.
The training initiative aims at:
- Improving reactivity, productivity and creativity of the targeted firms by preparing them for strategic repositioning once the crisis is over; -Developing human resources polyvalence and performance within the targeted firms;
The initiative, which will be operational in 2009, is devised for supervisory personnel, operators and executives from exporting firms in textile, leather and automobile equipment, who have maintained their staffing levels since the beginning of this year.
Through this agreement, the government commits to finance training actions carried out by eligible exporting enterprises in textile, leather and automobile equipment, and to ensure greater efficiency and reactivity of this training measure, professional associations of the 3 sectors involved opted for a GIAC mechanism as a tool of implementation.
