 Virtual meeting of Mr. Mohamed Benchaaboun, Minister of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform, with Mr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank Group

On the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (ADB) which are held virtually from June 22 to 25, 2021, on Tuesday June 22nd, 2021, The Minister of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform, Mr. Mohamed Benchaaboun, held a virtual meeting with Mr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the ADB Group.

Mr. Mohamed Benchaaboun reviewed during that meeting, the main priority reform projects undertaken by Morocco, under the High Guidance of His Majesty the King, to promote a dynamic recovery and strengthen the resilience of the economy, referring in this regard, the economic recovery plan supported by the Mohamed VI Investment Fund, the work of generalizing social protection and that of reforming the public sector.

On the other hand, Mr. Adesina, while appreciating the efforts made by Morocco in terms of vaccination and response to limit the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the Moroccan economy, announced the ADB's disposition to support and accompany Morocco's economic recovery plan. He also congratulated our country on its new development model which should ultimately lead to an inclusive, supportive and sustainable Morocco.

This meeting was also an opportunity for the two officials to discuss certain strategic issues in relation to the reforms undertaken by the ADB, particularly the initiative to set up a financial stability mechanism in Africa, which aims to provide Africa with its own tool capable of preventing and responding rapidly to the occurrence of any external impact in the future.
