Meeting of Ms. Nadia FETTAH with Mr. Sidi OULD TAH, President of the African Development Bank Group

Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, held talks on April 14, 2026 in Washington, D.C., with Mr. Sidi OULD TAH, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.

During this meeting, both parties welcomed the quality, strength, and exemplary nature of the partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the AfDB, based on close and mutually beneficial cooperation. The discussions also focused on the progress of preparations for the AfDB Annual Meetings 2026, as well as on shared priorities in terms of economic development and strengthening institutional capacities.

On this occasion, Mrs. FETTAH and the President of the AfDB signed a Letter of Intent aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of taxation and domestic resource mobilization.

This Letter of Intent is part of the enlightened vision of His Majesty the King, may God assist Him, aimed at sharing Moroccan experience in order to contribute to strengthening the capacities of the countries of the Continent.

Thus, the Kingdom will make available to the African Development Bank its expertise, human and logistical resources, with a view to strengthening the capacities of officials from the institution’s member countries, particularly in the area of domestic resource mobilization. This is a matter of utmost priority for the countries of the continent, especially as official development assistance has experienced a notable decline in recent years.
