Participation of the Minister in the proceedings of the first session of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Arab Republic of Egypt

Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, participated on April 6, 2026, in Cairo, in the proceedings of the first session of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Arab Republic of Egypt. This session was held under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Aziz AKHANNOUCH, Head of Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, and Dr. Mostafa MADBOULY, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

​This committee aims to strengthen cooperation relations between Morocco and Egypt and examine prospects for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, in line with the will of the leaders of both countries, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi.

During this session, the Minister signed, with Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Egyptian Minister of Finance, an agreement relating to mutual administrative assistance in customs matters between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as an amended convention for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion with respect to income taxes.

Furthermore, on the sidelines of her participation in this session, Mrs. Nadia FETTAH held a bilateral meeting with her Egyptian counterpart. On this occasion, the Minister praised the excellence of the cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Arab Republic of Egypt, highlighting the importance of the opportunities available to give a new momentum to economic relations between both countries, with a view to elevating bilateral economic cooperation to the level of the potential offered by their significant economic capacities, qualified human resources, and strategic geographic positions.


The Minister also reviewed the main development programs and policies implemented in the Kingdom of Morocco, under the High Guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, as well as the significant and diversified investments carried out in various infrastructure sectors, within the framework of ongoing preparations for hosting several regional and international events in the Kingdom.

Moreover, the Minister invited her Egyptian counterpart to encourage Egyptian investors to turn toward the Moroccan market, expressing the readiness of Moroccan authorities to deepen bilateral investment partnerships in order to meet the needs of both countries as well as those of neighboring markets.

Finally, the Minister and her Egyptian counterpart examined ways to develop economic and investment cooperation relations between the Ministries of Finance of both countries. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening consultation on major regional and international economic and financial issues, as well as enhancing technical cooperation and the exchange of expertise in international financial markets, and establishing joint programs aimed at facilitating the sharing of experiences and the transfer of skills for the benefit of brotherly and friendly African countries.
