Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD): the Secretary-General receives the Minister of Economy and Finance in audience

The Minister of Economy and Finance held talks on Wednesday in Paris with, Mr. Mathias Cormann, the Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

During these talks, both parties welcomed the strength of the partnership between Morocco and the OECD and examined ways to further enhance this cooperation, notably through the implementation of the 2024–2026 action plan.

The discussions also focused on the continuation of the work of the Morocco-OECD Economic Office, as well as on the role of the MENA-OECD programme in supporting economic reforms and the convergence of public policies with international standards.

On this occasion, the main reforms undertaken by the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, were highlighted, particularly in terms of the generalization of social protection, the strengthening of the governance of public institutions, the improvement of the business climate, and the consolidation of the transparency and effectiveness of public policies.



These exchanges also provided an opportunity to highlight the efforts made by the Kingdom to strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy.



On the sidelines of this meeting, the Minister also held meetings with several senior OECD officials, devoted to examining prospects for cooperation in areas of common interest.

The Minister also participated in a panel on “Institutions as a driver of productivity and competitiveness,” during which the experience and recent progress of the Kingdom were highlighted, particularly in terms of structural reforms and economic governance.
