Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, held talks on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, with Mr. Makhtar DIOP, Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
During this meeting, the Minister of Economy and Finance emphasized the Moroccan Government’s determination, in line with the High Royal Guidelines, to continue implementing the various strategic projects and reforms undertaken by the Kingdom, aimed at strengthening the foundations of the social state, preserving the resilience of the national economy and macroeconomic balances, and anchoring the Moroccan economy on a path of strong, sustainable, and inclusive growth.
In this context, Mrs. FETTAH highlighted Morocco’s experience in consolidating tax revenues in recent years, thanks to various measures undertaken as part of the tax reform, stressing Morocco’s readiness to share its experience in this field with other African countries.
Furthermore, Mrs. FETTAH called on the IFC to continue and strengthen its commitment and support to the Moroccan private sector in high-potential job-creating sectors such as tourism and cultural industries, particularly in the context of major investments planned in anticipation of upcoming sports events to be hosted by Morocco, which will support the growth of the national economy in the coming years.
For his part, Mr. DIOP underscored the IFC’s readiness to strengthen its support—both financial and technical—for the Kingdom’s development efforts, particularly in terms of mobilizing financing for the private sector, promoting regional development, and supporting Moroccan companies in Africa.
Mr. DIOP also emphasized that the IFC shares the Moroccan Government’s vision in promoting sectors with high job-creation potential, expressing the institution’s willingness to support Morocco’s efforts in this area.
