The Minister of Economy and Finance, Mrs Nadia FETTAH, took part in the opening ceremony of the 5th edition of the “Africa Investment Forum” (AIF) organized under the high patronage of his majesty the king, may God assist him, from December 4 to 6, 2024, in Rabat, under the theme “Leveraging innovative partnerships to scale up”.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the African Development Bank Group, the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and other eminent personalities and leaders of several African and international financial institutions.
In her opening speech, Mrs. FETTAH highlighted the profound changes Morocco has undergone over the past 25 years under the reign of his majesty the king, may God assist him, notably in terms of improving living conditions for millions of Moroccans and strengthening the Kingdom's position on the international stage.
Mrs. FETTAH also praised the relevance of the theme chosen for this year's Forum, highlighting the decisive role of multilateral partnerships in increasing investment and promoting development projects throughout the world, and particularly in Africa.
In this respect, the Minister underlined Morocco's interest in diversifying its international partnerships, in line with the ambitious Royal Vision based on building win-win alliances, particularly with countries on the African continent. In this context, Mrs. FETTAH recalled the strategic initiatives launched by Morocco in favour of joint development in Africa, such as the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline and the Royal Initiative for the Atlantic, which will promote access to the Atlantic Ocean for the Sahel States.
At the end of her speech, the Minister returned to the increasingly assertive role of the AIF as a privileged platform for the promotion of investments in Africa. She also reiterated the support of the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco for this ambitious initiative of the African Development Bank and its founding partners, as well as for all the efforts of the international community aimed at realizing Africa's ambitions for development and emergence, in line with the Royal Vision in favour of the development and prosperity of the African continent.
