The Minister of Economy and Finance receives the Canadian Ambassador to Morocco

Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, met, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, Mrs. Isabelle Valois, Canada's Ambassador to Morocco.

​During the meeting, Mrs. FETTAH congratulated Mrs. Valois on her appointment as Canada's Ambassador to Morocco, and expressed her delight at the quality of the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

The Minister of Economy and Finance expressed her wish to see these relations further strengthened, by capitalizing on the dynamic reforms and development undertaken by the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of his majesty the king, May God assist him, which offers Canadian economic operators’ considerable investment and partnership potential.

In this respect, Mrs. FETTAH highlighted certain areas of cooperation where Morocco could benefit from Canadian expertise, notably higher education, gender equality and social and solidarity economy. The Minister of Economy and Finance also emphasized the opportunities offered to Canadian investors, through the Mohammed VI Investment Fund and its thematic funds, to support the momentum of reforms and major structuring projects launched by Morocco.

For her part, Mrs. Valois praised the remarkable progress made by the Kingdom in recent years, both in terms of socio-economic infrastructure and far-reaching societal reforms. In this respect, the Canadian Ambassador expressed her willingness to contribute to further strengthening cooperative relations with Morocco, while underlining her country's readiness to share its expertise and provide technical assistance in areas of cooperation of common interest.
