Mr. Fouzi LEKJAA meets with a delegation from the Parliamentary Network of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund

The Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Mr Fouzi LEKJAA, received, Monday June 5th 2023, a delegation from the Parliamentary Network of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is making a working visit to Morocco from June 4 to 7, 2023.

The visit is part of the activities of this non-governmental organization, founded in 2000 and which aims to offer parliamentarians from the member countries of the two Bretton Woods institutions a platform for promoting the values of accountability and transparency within international financial institutions.

During the meeting, the Minister Delegate reviewed the main structural reforms undertaken by the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of HIS MAJESTY THE KING, may God assist him, to lay the foundations for sustained, inclusive, sustainable and resilient economic and social development.

In this respect, Mr. LEKJAA emphasized the founding nature of the social protection reform, promoted and carried out by HIS MAJESTY THE KING, may God assist him, as part of a Royal vision that places the development of human capital at the heart of Morocco's economic and social development priorities.

The Minister Delegate also shed light on economic and budgetary policy issues raised by members of the delegation from the Parliamentary Network of the World Bank Group and the IMF. In this context, Mr. LEKJAA underlined the major budgetary efforts made by the public authorities to limit the impact of inflation on the economic fabric in general and household purchasing power in particular.

For his part, the spokesman for the Parliamentary Network delegation praised the exemplary development experience of Morocco, whose lessons will be of great use to many of the Network's member countries.
