Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, met, Wednesday, March 22nd 2023 with Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Financial Services for Development (UNSGSA).

During this meeting, the Minister indicated that the issue of financial inclusion has always been the focus of the Moroccan authorities as an essential axis of the financial sector development.

In this context, the Minister stressed that access to financial services opens up consumption, savings and investment opportunities for households, allowing them to adapt their consumption and invest in education and health to improve their living conditions.

The Minister also indicated that access to credit also allows businesses to develop by creating jobs and reducing inequalities. It is in this sense that Morocco has included among its priorities the development and implementation of a concerted and integrated National Strategy for Financial Inclusion, with the ambition of extending access to financial services and drawing on its development potential.

This meeting is part of the visit of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands to our country, in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Financial Services, which aims to promote greater progress in the field of financial inclusion.
