Highlights

This year's summit agenda focuses on issues of accelerating development and governance, the future of societies and health care, the governance of economic resilience and connectivity, the design and maintenance of global cities, and education and employment as a priority for governments.

As part of the activities of this global event, the Minister participated in the opening session of the summit, marked by the participation of a number of heads of State and government, as well as representatives of regional and international organizations.

Mrs. FETTAH also took part in the high-level closed session organized by the UAE Ministry of State for Financial Affairs in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund on February 13, 2023, on the theme "The Role of Government and Private Sectors and International Institutions in Addressing Barriers to Climate Finance."

This session was devoted to examining responses to the challenges and opportunities related to climate finance, with discussions focusing on the role of the public and private sectors and international institutions in establishing an appropriate framework and redesigning the financial architecture to attract more private climate finance, particularly in emerging markets and developing economies.

The World Government Summit, held since 2013 in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, is a global platform for knowledge exchange and communication between government officials, businessmen and civil society from Arab countries and the rest of the world. The aim of this event is to discuss the points of convergence between government action and innovation, and ways of harnessing technology to overcome the challenges facing humanity, sharing experiences and knowledge to contribute to the promotion of development and global prosperity.
