Signing ceremony of partnership agreements between MEF and UM5 of Rabat, UCA, AUI, UIR, UM6P

Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Abdellatif Miraoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and Mr. Abdellatif Jouahri, the Wali of Bank Al Maghrib, presided, September 22nd 2022 over the signing ceremony of partnership agreements between the Ministry of Economy and Finance and several Moroccan universities. The objective of this event is the implementation of a volunteer program for the benefit of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund to be held in Marrakech, in October 2023.

These agreements will define a partnership framework for the mobilization of approximately 500 students from the signatory universities, as volunteers, within the framework of the organization of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.

The presidents and representatives of the universities involved, namely, Mohammed V University in Rabat, Cadi Ayyad University, Al Akhawayne University, the International University of Rabat and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, took part in the ceremony.

Other universities will be solicited in the coming months to join this partnership program. The mobilization of student volunteers for the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund aims to promote the image of Moroccan youth and highlight their involvement and commitment in the work and important events of the country.

It also intends to allow student volunteers to live the unique experience of hosting the 2023 edition of the Annual Meetings of the two international institutions in our country. These Annual Meetings are the major ones of international finance.

About 14,000 personalities are expected to attend, including the Ministers of Finance and the Governors of the Central Banks of the 189 member countries of these two institutions, as well as leading figures in international finance, international experts and opinion-makers, and representatives of the media, NGOs and academia.
