Today on January 5th, 2022m Ms. Nadia Fattah, Minister of Economy and Finance, is chairing the meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Social Security Fund at the December 2021 session, pursuant to the provisions of article 8 of the Dahir stating Act No. 1.72.184 of 27 July 1972 on the social security system and articles 76 and 77 of Act No. 65.00 on the Basic Health Insurance Code.
On that occasion, the Minister welcomed the active role played by all the actors of the National Social Security Fund in ensuring the success of the Royal Strategic Workshops which will enable all citizens to access social health protection and in keeping pace with the measures taken by the Government to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic and social impact on our country.
In addition, the Minister referred to recent developments and the results of the workshops mainstreaming social protection to reach new categories on one hand, and on the level of services provided to insured groups, on the other hand. The aim is to include self-employed workers and entrepreneurs in the social health protection system to reach more than three million people who will be integrated into the basic compulsory health insurance system.
She also recalled the efforts of the National Social Security Fund Administration and the positive indicators achieved in 2021 related to the effectiveness of the management of public order and the system of basic compulsory insurance for workers.
In this regard, Ms. Nadia Fattah referred to achievements related to public order. The number of active employees authorized to the Fund increased to 3.4 million, the number of enterprises engaged and declared approximately reached 290,000, the number of beneficiaries of pensions totaled 693,566 for an amount exceeding 13 billion dirhams, and the number of beneficiaries of family allowances totaled more than 1.7 million for an amount exceeding 9 million dirhams.
With regard to the basic compulsory health insurance system, the Minister said that the number of health insurance beneficiaries had increased to over 7.8 million, including about 3 million active beneficiaries, over 600,000 pensioners and over 4 million beneficiaries. She also stated that the compensation paid to them amounted to nearly 5.9 billion dirhams, that unpaid contributions amounted to 8.5 billion dirhams and that the number of files created each day was 22,751, that the processing of said files was guaranteed and that the medical fees’ reimbursement did not exceed 6 days.
The work of the Board of Directors of this session was devoted to the approval of the National Social Security Fund work program and budget for 2022.
