5th Edition of the Conference of Public Finance Institutes under the theme: "Managerial and Organizational Aspects of Public Finance in the Era of Covid-19"

Within the framework of the exchange of experiences, the development of human capital capacities and the strengthening of South-South cooperation, the Ministry of Economy and Finance in partnership with the Network of Public Finance Institutes of African, Middle Eastern and Caribbean countries, organized on November 24 and 25, 2021, the 5th Edition of the Conference of Public Finance Institutes under the theme "Managerial and Organizational Aspects of Public Finance in the Era of the Covid-19".

The theme of this year is at the center of the current concerns of public administrations and public finance institutes, whose ultimate objective is to guarantee the continuity of their activities and services to citizens in a context weakened by the socio-economic and financial effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This International Conference was attended by Directors General of Public Finance Institutes of the member countries of the network, representatives of ministerial departments, donors as well as experts and training professionals from different countries.

This annual meeting was a favorable opportunity for debate, reflection, sharing of experiences and expertise between Morocco and member countries of the Network of Public Finance Institutes in terms of organizational modes and managerial practices established to cope with the constraints inflicted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The proceedings of the meeting were organized by videoconference along the following lines:

  • AXIS 1: Organizational modes adapted for the continuation of activities in a context of constraints related to the pandemic, taking into account the environment, gender and social equity.

  • AXIS 2 : Best managerial practices in times of pandemic pressures.

The interventions and debates that took place between the various participants on the theme of the conference have highlighted, on the one hand, the role of digitalization to ensure continuity of service within public administrations in crisis situations. And on the other hand, the importance of taking into account gender in the response to the pandemic.

And with the objective of strengthening cooperation, this 5th Edition was marked by the accession of Libya as a member of the network of Public Finance Institutes of African, Middle Eastern and Caribbean countries during the General Assembly held on November 25, 2021.

The conference was open to the general public on Facebook, Youtube and on the website of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
