Visit to Morocco by Mr. Ferid BELHAJ, Vice-President for the MENA region at the World Bank

The Minister of the Economy, Finance and Administration Reform Mr. Mohamed Benchaaboun received on Wednesday, March 10th 2021, at the headquarters of his department Mr. Ferid BELHAJ, Vice-President for the MENA region at the World Bank.

Mr. Mohamed Benchaaboun recalled the large-scale projects that are being set up by the Government under the royal instructions of his majesty the King. It concerns the following

            (i) the revival of the economy driven by the Mohammed VI Fund for

             the investment,

            (ii) public sector reform and

(iii) generalization of social coverage.

 The Minister of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform took the opportunity of this meeting to invite the World Bank, through its expertise, to support the efforts of the Government

For his part, and while showing the World Bank's interest in strengthening its support for Morocco's economic and social development efforts, Mr. Belhaj made a point to congratulate our country for its exemplary management of the current vaccination campaign. He also expressed the readiness of this institution to provide support, both technical and financial, to the various priority reform projects undertaken by the Moroccan Kingdom.

Those responsible have also reaffirmed their commitment and common will to successfully organize the annual meetings of the World Bank and the IMF, scheduled in Marrakech, October 2022.
