Within the framework of the 2019 annual consultations under Article IV and the 1st review of the Precautionary and Liquidity Line (LPL) approved in December 2018, a mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) visited our country from March 19th to April 3rd 2019.
The IMF mission, led by Mr. Nicolas Blancher, held a series of interviews and meetings with different government departments and public and private bodies.
Discussions revolved mainly around reviewing the economic policies our country implemented to strenghthen macroeconomic stability, as well as reforms to ensure greater and more inclusive growth.
Following this event, the IMF issued a press statement that welcomed the good performance of the Moroccan economy and the relevance of the policies undertaken regarding budget control, economic diversification and increasing of its resilience.
Similarly, the group welcomed the ongoing discussions to determine a new development model for Morocco, and urged the Moroccan authorities to further accelerate the implementation of structural reforms.
