Mr. Mohamed BENCHAABOUN, Minister of Economy and Finance, received Wednesday, May 29th 2019 in Rabat, Mr. Khaled SHERIF, vice-president of Regional Development, Integration and Business Delivery at the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), who is on an official visit to Morocco.
During this meeting, both officials reviewed some points of the financial cooperation between Morocco and AfDB.
Within this framework, the Minister welcomed the quality of the cooperation links between Morocco and the AfDB. He also stressed that this institution supports the dynamic economic and social development of our country through its financial contribution to major reform programs and investment projects in various fields namely, transport, water supply and sanitation, electricity, finance, farming, education and health.
On the other hand, Mr. SHERIF emphasized the exemplary partnership between Morocco and the AfDB and drew attention to the commitment of this institution to accompany the economic and social development efforts of our country and the modernisation of its economy.
This meeting was also an opportunity for both officials to discuss the process of this institution’s general capital increase which will enable the AfDB to secure more ressorces allowing it to accompany African countries in achieving Sustainable Development Objectives
At the end of this meeting, the Minister and Mr. Khaled SHERIF reaffirmed their determination to further develop the cooperation relations between the AfDB and Morocco.
