During his speech, the Minister stressed our country’s major progress in
the field of cyber security, thanks in particular to the government
strategy on information systems security supported by the DGSSI.
The Minister stated, in this context, that significant efforts were
made, in recent years, particularly in terms of regulatory upgrading in
relation to international standards and best practices, together with
the effective support of the DGSSI and the efforts in terms of
monitoring, consulting, training and awareness raising among different
stakeholders. These initiatives enabled to strengthen the level of
maturity in the field of cyber security, and raise general awareness on
the strategic importance of the security of information systems.
In addition, Mr. BENCHAABOUN stressed that, with the importance of
information systems that support nearly all the professions and missions
of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform, the
security of information systems was set as a key priority within the
framework of its Strategic Action Plan 2017-2021.
In this respect, the Minister noted that a Governance Committee of the
Ministry's Information Systems Security was created in 2017 to establish
a roadmap of the security of information systems within the Ministry
and to monitor its implementation. This roadmap comprises a number of
additional projects that are currently being implemented at a steady
pace and with the support of the various departments of the Ministry.
As for the theme of this seminar, Mr. BENCHAABOUN stated that the use of
outsourcing solutions is widely recognized, particularly with regard to
the hosting and outsourcing of the information systems. However, he
pointed out that the risks that this appraoch involve must be carefully
assessed and evaluated, particularly for so-called sensitive information
systems.
