The 3rd National Meetings on Taxation

he 3rd National Tax Conference opened, Friday May 03rd 2019 in Skhirat, under the theme " Fiscal Equity". The opening ceremony of these meetings, under the high patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, is chaired by the Head of Government, Mr. Saâd Dine El OTMANI, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Mohamed BENCHAABOUN, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Interior, Mr. Noureddine BOUTAYEB, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Mr. Salaheddine MEZOUAR, and the President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE), Mr. Ahmed Reda CHAMI.

This event will enable to set the outlines of a more efficient, transparent, fair and competitive tax system based on a broader tax base and lower rates. It will focus on the principles of the rule of law in terms of taxation and will make use of best practices at the international level.

In addition, these meetings will be a key part of the Kingdom's development model aimed at greater wealth creation, inclusive growth and everyone's involvement, in a greater equity, for the development effort of the country.

These meetings will also have to define a roadmap to adapt our tax system to international standards and norms. A wide range of stakeholders as well as international tax experts will be involved in these initiatives.

Following this event, a draft framework law outlining the various steps of the reform of the national tax system will be developed.
