Simplification of administrative formalities for passports: the Launch of the electronic passport stamp

In the framework of the simplification of administrative procedures for citizens, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Economy and Finance announce that the passport stamp will be dematerialized as of  January 1st 2019.

The request of the dematerialized stamp is done electronically via the e-mail address of the portal of the General Directorate of Taxes :

www.tax.gov.ma

Citizens will be able to pay the stamp duty, via any channel they choose: directly by credit card on the portal of the Directorate General of Taxes or through bank branches and various payment providers.

They will then obtain a "dematerialized stamp" in the form of a series of 16 digits that they will receive by SMS and must use to complete the passport application form, on the website of the Ministry of the Interior devoted to the passport: www.passeport.ma

The Ministry of the Interior also announces that the dematerialisation initiatives will continue in order to allow citizens, in the near future, to submit their requests for remote passport renewal.

Further information and assistance can be obtained from : www.passeport.ma or contact the DGI Information Center at : SIMPL@tax.gov.ma or call 05 37 27 37 27.
