Mr. BOUSSAID participates in the meetings of African Union Finance Ministers

Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, went to Addis-Ababa to take part in the meetings of African Union Finance Ministers, held on 8 and 9 August 2017 at the headquarters of AU Commission.

The works of these meetings mainly concerned the presentation of the financial framework of the African Union as well as the Organization’s financial and budgetary reforms.

These meetings also constituted an opportunity for AU’s Finance Ministers to study the measures of implementing the decision on the financing of the AU as a key element in reforming AU. Said decision was taken during the 29th Summit of heads of States and the AU Government held in July 2017 in Addis-Ababa.

In the margin of these meetings, Mr. BOUSSAID had a talk with Mr. Thomas Quartey KWESSI, Vice-President of the AU Commission, and with Mr. Donald KABERUKA, Senior Officer of the Peace Fund of the AU. Discussions mainly focused on strengthening cooperation ties with the AU and sharing Moroccan experience in economic and financial fields with pan-African bodies and institutions.

At the same time, the Minister of Economy and Finance held bilateral meetings with his African counterparts to discuss ways and means to strengthen cooperation relations with these countries.
