Signature of a loan agreement financing the support project of the 2015-2030 National Education Strategy

Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, presided on Thursday, June 22, 2017, in Rabat, the signing ceremony of a loan agreement of € 80 million and a grant of € 500,000.00 for financing the support project of the 2015-2030 National Education Strategy.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Mohamed HASSAD, Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Jean François GIRAULT, French Ambassador to Morocco, and Mr. Eric BAULARD, Director of French Development Agency in Morocco.

In his short speech, Mr. BOUSSAID, praised the excellent relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of France and expressed his satisfaction regarding the quality of the partnership between Morocco and French Development Agency (AFD).

The Minister emphasized that the loan and grant from AFD are likely to support the implementation of the 2015-2030 National Education strategy, highlighting the objectives set out in the latter.

His Excellency the Ambassador, for his part, affirmed that France strongly supports Morocco's National Education Strategy, which aims to promote the education-training-employment continuum, specifying that education is the cornerstone of human development which is in center of the policy of social cohesion, inclusive and sustainable growth of the Kingdom.

In his word for this event, Mr. Mohamed HASSAD, Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, underlined the strong mobilization of the national education actors, including the teaching staff and the strong determination to overcome the identified difficulties.

​ Mr. HASSAD affirmed that Morocco has set strategic orientations in the field of education and that it has a clear roadmap that is currently implemented. The Minister also specified that education and teaching are the responsibility of the whole community.
