Participation of the Directorate of Treasury and External Finance in the Regional Conference on International Investment Agreements

​The DTFE (the Directorate of Treasury and External Finance) participates in the Regional Conference organized by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in Casablanca from January 23rd to 26th 2017 together with the Secretariat of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Islamic Center for the Development of Trade (ICDT) and the Statistical, Economic and Social Research Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) , on International Investment Agreements (IIA), under the theme "Reform of International Investment Agreements (IIA) : Action plan".

The conference, which brings together more than 60 investment experts from more than 30 IDB member countries, aims to deepen the understanding of participants in the challenges of the new (UNCTAD) reform on (IIA) and focus on how investment policies can best reflect the objectives of sustainable development and inclusive growth.

It should be noted that the DTFE is responsible for developing and negotiating with the countries the international investment agreements which constitute one of the fundamental axes of the policy of the public authorities to create the indispensable climate of confidence likely to attract foreign investors by providing them with a stable and supportive legal environment.

​Our country ranks second in terms of the number of international investment agreements signed after Egypt, Africa and the Arab world.
