The Minister of Economy and Finance signs with Japanese officials an exchange of notes and a loan agreement

A signing ceremony of the Exchange of Notes and the loan agreement amounting to 5.371 billion yen (about 467 million DH) for the project of the construction of an Oceanographic and Fisheries Research Ship was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

This ceremony was chaired, on the Moroccan side, by Mr. Mohamed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, in the presence of Mr. Abdelmalek FARAJ, Director General of the National Institute of Fisheries Research (INRH).

On the Japanese side, this event was chaired by Mr. Tsuneo KUROKAWA, Ambassador of Japan to Morocco, in the presence of Mr. Shinichi KITAOKA, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Mr. Hitoshi TOJIMA, Resident Representative Of the (JICA) Office in Rabat.

During this ceremony, the Minister of Economy and Finance, the Ambassador of Japan to Morocco and the President of the ( JICA) welcomed the quality of the bilateral relations between both countries and reaffirmed their firm commitment to work together to further consolidate and strengthen these relations.

​The oceanographic fisheries research ship that will be built within the framework of this project will be provided with the latest technologies required for advanced scientific research and which will contribute to the strengthening of scientific research and the management of fisheries resources in Morocco and to the sustainable development of the fishing industry.
