Signature in Rabat of financing agreements on the construction of three high-speed railway stations

The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) signed agreements concerning the Bank's participation in the financing of the construction of three high-speed railway stations in the cities of Tangier, Kenitra And Casablanca for a total amount of 980 M DH.

This event was chaired, on the Moroccan side, by Mr. Mohamed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, in the presence of Mr. Rabii Lakhlii Director General of the National Office of Railways, while the Islamic Development Bank Was represented by Mr. Mohamed Ould Taleb, Regional Director of the (IDB) in Rabat.

On this occasion, the Minister thanked Mr. Sidi Mohamed Taleb for the special support that the (IDB) offers Morocco in terms of financing development projects.

The Minister underlined the importance of this project for the construction of the three railway stations for the TGV line between Casablanca and Tangier, financed by the (IDB), which is of particular importance for economic support through the development of the railway system. Rail transport and the creation of an additional absorption capacity for facilitating goods flow.

Mr. Ould Taled noted the exceptional nature of relations between the (IDB) and Morocco, underlining the (IDB's) willingness to contribute to the financing of national social economic development projects, as well as its disposition to achieve these projects.

​It is recalled that the (IDB) is an all-party financial institution founded in 1975 by the member countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in order to support economic and social development.
