Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance met, Friday, May 6th, 2016 in Rabat, with Mr. Kenichi TOMIYOSHI, Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), who is on a working visit to Morocco.
In a press statement, the Minister stressed the excellent and historical relations between Morocco and the (JICA), which reflects 'the depth of relations linking the Kingdom and Japan.'
Mr. BOUSSAID has, thus specified that the (JICA) supports our country in several areas that are a priority for Morocco including the Green Morocco Plan. He also noted that the interest of both sides also covers the field of energy and rural development.
For his part, the Vice President of the (JICA) stated that Morocco is an important partner for the Agency because of its stability. Mr. TOMIYOSHI also reported that the (JICA) is very interested in the fields of renewable energy in view of the Annual Conference that will be held in November 2016 in Marrakech under the guidance of the United Nations and which will have ' climate Change '(COP22) as its theme.
It should be noted that during their meeting, the Minister of Economy and Finance and the Japanese official reviewed the various aspects of cooperation between Morocco and Japan in general and cooperation with the (JICA) in particular.
They also expressed their will to strengthen this cooperation in order to improve it to achieve the high level of excellence of the existing political relations between both countries.
Both officials welcomed the trend in the commitments of the (JICA) under public development assistance loans devoted to Morocco, which were used to finance projects in the areas of agriculture, drinking water , rural electrification, roads and highways, railways and national education.
