Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, took part in the 3rd edition of Guinea-Morocco Economic Forum held, January 17th and 18th, 2016 in Conakry. He has been received with the official Moroccan delegation by the president of the Republic of Guinea, Mr. Alpha Condé.
The Minister also attended, January 18th 2016, the signing ceremony of several agreements covering various areas of cooperation between representatives of the Moroccan private sector and their Guinean counterparts. These agreements include investment, finance, industry and new technologies.
This meeting was an opportunity for Mr. BOUSSAID to welcome this initiative which provided a chance to Guinean and Moroccan operators to identify new opportunities to sign agreements able to create wealth and employment. He also put forward the progress of the implementation of agreements already signed.
Within this framework, he noted that all the agreements signed between both sides progress towards meeting their targets. He noted that this forum which succeeded with the participation of companies from both countries was an opportunity to learn more about promising sectors in Guinea.
This meeting, co-organized by the General Confederation of Moroccan Companies (CGEM) and the Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (APIP) of the Republic of Guinea, was devoted to reviewing the situation of the agreements signed between Morocco and Guinea. The meeting was attended by a hundred of Moroccan companies interested in the business opportunities offered by this country in West Africa in promising sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, animal breeding, water, energy, mining, transport, infrastructure, telecommunications, trade, industry, pharmaceuticals industry, real estate, regional planning, tourism and handicrafts.
The monitoring Committee of Guinea-Moroccan agreements welcomed the status of the implementation of agreements signed between the two countries, stressing that 60% of agreements are fully realized or make normal progress. Its members called to implement in the shortest possible time the remaining agreements as long as they face no funding problems. They expressed their willingness to work together to strengthen the strong partnership which is constantly being consolidated under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and the President of the Republic of Guinea, Mr. Alpha Condé.
