During its meeting on December 14th 2015, the IMF Executive Board completed the annual consultations with Morocco under Article IV for 2015.
In a statement released after this meeting, the IMF welcomed the relevance of our country’s macroeconomic policies that further improved the macroeconomic situation in Morocco in 2015, with an acceleration of growth, a strengthening of fiscal and external flexibility, and progress in reducing unemployment and poverty. He also noted the strength of the financial sector and its resilience to external shocks.
At the end of these meetings, the IMF Board of Directors stressed the importance for Morocco to maintain macroeconomic policies and urged the Moroccan authorities to accelerate structural reforms to enhance competitiveness and promote a much stronger, inclusive and employment- creating growth.
