Mr. BOUSSAID calls on the EBRD to further support the Moroccan private sector

Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, gave, Wednesday, November 4th , 2015 at Rabat Convention & Exhibition Centre Mohammed VI at Skhirat a speech during the opening session of the first business forum for the southern and eastern Mediterranean region (SEMED). The forum was organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) under the theme «Unleashing the potential."

On the one hand, the Minister highlighted the Moroccan development model that has demonstrated, through structural reforms and sector strategies, resilience to the negative impacts of the international and regional context, and the need to deepen and accelerate reforms for a sustainable job-creating growth on the other.

Mr. BOUSSAID took the opportunity to urge the Bank to further support the private sector by providing innovative financial tools and expertise that meet their needs enabling it to play a key role in the development of countries in the region (see Speech attached).

It should be noted that on the sidelines of the Forum, the Minister of Economy and Finance met with the President and the four Governors of the SEMED countries to discuss issues of common interest for the development of cooperative relations of the Bank and the countries of the SEMED region it operates in as well as strengthening their presence in the decision-making bodies of this institution
