Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID holds discussions in Casablanca with the Prime Minister of Benin

Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance met Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 in Casablanca with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Benin, Mr. Lionel Zinsou.

In a press release, Mr.BOUSSAID​ stressed that the meeting was an opportunity for both sides to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the economic and financial sectors.

In addition, Mr. BOUSSAID emphasized the excellent relations between Morocco and Benin. These relationships are part of the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to strengthen cooperation South South and consolidate the role Morocco plays to achieve the economic development of the African continent.

"Today it is an important move attested by all the actions and initiatives that the Kingdom of Morocco is currently undertaking in a number of sub-Saharan countries, confirmed also  by the presence of Moroccan economic operators in many areas, particularly in Benin where Moroccan banks accompany the development of this country ", he noted.

Mr. BOUSSAID also stated that the meeting with the Prime Minister of Benin, was also an opportunity to review areas in which Morocco could be beneficial for Benin, particularly in rural electrification, Renewable energy, clean water or in the real estate sector, particularly social housing.

On the other hand, Mr. Zinsou clarified that this meeting was an opportunity to examine ways which would enhance the excellent relations of cooperation between both sides especially in the economic and financial sectors, the promotion of the private sector and the Moroccan private investment in Benin, as well as the support of bilateral cooperation in the financial field.

Mr. Zinsou thanked Morocco for hosting the Constituent General Assembly of Africa 50 funds, noting that this meeting is a historic moment to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

"Morocco offers very significant opportunities for Benin such as training students. We are fortunate to benefit from Morocco's scholarship programs for training executives from sub-Saharan Africa, both in civil and technical matters and in security area. These are key elements for an   increasingly rich dialogue between the Kingdom of Morocco and Benin, "he stated.
