The Minister of Economy and Finance chaired the 2nd edition of the "Morocco -US Business Development Conference "

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Mohammed Boussaid , chaired Monday, March 10th , 2014 in Rabat , the 2nd  edition of the ' Morocco -US Business Development Conference ', which came after the visit of His Majesty the King to USA . This event allows U.S business leaders to meet senior government officials in charge of strategic sectors in Morocco, as well as heads of Moroccan companies to discuss opportunities for trade and investment. Were present in this meeting sixty American businessmen, including Mr. Scott Eisner, Vice- President of the American Chamber of Commerce and Mr. David Hamod, President of the Arab American Chamber of Commerce.
 ​ At the opening session, the Minister of Economy and Finance invited U.S. business leaders to seize business opportunities offered by Morocco. He stated that the objective of the Kingdom is to increase U.S. investment in Morocco and involve U.S. companies in Morocco’s dynamic of growth, which has shown significant resilience to all kinds of crises. ​

In addition, Mr. Boussaid highlighted the quality of relations between the two countries and stressed the commitment of Morocco to take the utmost benefit of its geostrategic location as a platform of production, export and investment toward other markets, particularly with its African partners.

" Morocco's commitment to a dynamic development, growth and opening is based on its political and social stability, recognized as a model in the region and a process of constitutional , legislative and policy reforms , which responds to the expectations of Moroccans , "stated the Minister. He added: "This commitment is in line with His Majesty King Mohammed VI will, to give a strong impetus to diplomacy, giving a particular attention to the pragmatism in approaches, to efficient means of action and tangibility of the performance"

As regards the second Moroccan- American Conference on Business Development, Mr. Boussaid stressed that it is part of a continuous process of strengthening the centuries-old ties of common interest between the two countries.

To be noted that the Rabat Conference is characterized by its interest in Africa dimension and in accordance with Morocco –USA joint statement issued after the Royal Visit , in which the two Heads of State particularly " welcomed their shared assessment of human and economic development role in promoting stability and security in  Africa  and are committed to further explore and deepen pragmatic and inclusive cooperation on economic and development issues of common interest . "

Similarly, the interest given to Africa remains in line with the African policy of the Kingdom shown in His Majesty King Mohammed VI multiple visits in several African countries and with ongoing commitment of Morocco to promote fruitful cooperation and active solidarity with these countries in order to contribute to achieving the expectations of the people of the continent in terms of development and stability.

In addition and as part of the Strategic Dialogue between Morocco and the USA in September 2012 , Morocco work actively for the effective implementation of the objectives set out in the Memorandum of Understanding signed in this regard, and therefore further develop the existing cooperation between the two countries , particularly in the economic field.

Moreover, the Minister chaired, the closing session of the second edition of the “Morocco -US Business Development Conference."
