Strengthening cooperation between Morocco and the IDB

A signing ceremony held January 29th 2014 at the Ministry of Economy and Finance between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) on the Memorandum of Understanding on the partnership strategy and financing agreements relating to water supply project in the regions of Agadir, Ait Baha and deve​lopment project of the olive oil sector for Moroccan small farmers totaling about 1.8 billion dirhams.

The signing ceremony was chaired by Mr. Boussaid Mohamed, Minister of Economy and Finance in the presence of Mr. Abdelkader Aamara, Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment and by His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, President of the group of the IDB.During this event, Mr. Boussaid thanked the President of the IDB for the interest of the Bank in supporting the economic and social development of our country.​

 He also stressed the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on the partnership strategy which provides a framework to give new impetus to the relations of cooperation between the IDB Group and Morocco.Similarly, he stressed that these key projects will form part of a national program that the government wishes to implement in accordance with the Royal guidelines and which is of particular importance for strengthening the infrastructure of the water sector and implementing the projects approved under the Green Morocco Plan which aims at the development of agriculture in our country.

For his part, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, welcomed the quality of bilateral relations between the IDB and Morocco, and reiterated the commitment of the Bank to work with the Moroccan Government to further strengthen such relations.
