A partnership agreement on the establishment and development of the Excellence Centre on Gender Responsive Budgeting (EC-GRB) for the period 2013-2016, was signed, June Thursday the 6th of 2013 in Rabat, between the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the UN Women.
Signed by the Minister of Economy and Finance Mr. Nizar Baraka, and Representative of UN Women in the Maghreb, Ms. Leila Rhiwi, this agreement aims to establish and develop a center for innovation, learning and sharing in the field of gender budgeting.
"The establishment and development of EC-GRB aims to assist the various ministries in the integration, planning and programming of Gender responsive concepts and to develop an excellence center for innovation and sharing knowledge and skills in the field of gender budgeting, " said Ms. Rhiwi.
For his part, Mr. Baraka said "this center of excellence has been established within the Ministry of Finance, at the Direction of Studies and Financial Forecasts, to share the experience Morocco has accumulated in terms of gender budgeting".
The EC-GRB, based on a vision of innovation, learning and sharing, aims to establish an excellence dynamic by linking different stakeholders in the field of GRB on the national, regional and global levels.
The creation of the EC-GRB, under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, is the result of a decade of the commitment of Morocco to promote the inclusion of gender equality in the management public finances.
