Official opening of the 48thannual meetingsof the (ADB)

The 48th Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (ADB), themed "structural transformation of Africa", were opened Thursday, May 30th, 2013 in Marrakech.   

The opening session, held in front of eminent personalities, including government officials, executives of the Bank and Moroccan and foreign experts, was characterized by a Royal message from HM King Mohammed VI, May God Assists Him, to the participants, and which was read by Mr. Omar Kabbaj, Advisor to HM the King.

Three days before this major event, a series of seminars and workshops have addressed sets of topics related to "policy for structural transformation in Africa: What Role for think tanks "," policy dissemination and access to information "," stimulate the African private sector in financing and business opportunities, "and" the need of the energy sector in Africa: strengthening capacity in the energy sector."

The main focus of these seminars and workshops was also "index of inclusive growth in Africa", "dialogue on governance: putting accountability at the heart of service delivery", "from stability to growth, strategic indicators of investment and maintaining growth momentum "and" transparency, accountability and citizen participation. "

With over 2.700 delegates from some 78 countries, the (ADB) annual meetings provide an opportunity to discuss topics of priority for the continent under the strategic guidelines of the aforementioned Bank in the next ten years, the main issues being inclusive growth, green growth and youth employment.
