AFDB president starts working visit to Morocco

The President of the African Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Donald Kaberuka arrived, Monday, May 27th 2013  in Casablanca, for a working visit to Morocco during which he will take part in the (ADB)`s 48th annual meeting which kicked off in Marrakech.

Upon his arrival at the Mohammed V airport, Mr. Kaberuka, who was greeted by the Finance Minister, Mr. Nizar Baraka, said that he was glad to be in Morocco and thanked HM King Mohammed VI, as well as the Moroccan government and people, for the invitation to host the event which will run until May 31st.

It is an honor for the (ADB) to hold this meeting in Morocco, a major emerging African country, he said, commending the long-standing, close and privileged ties between Morocco and the Bank which has financed several socio-economic projects in the Kingdom.

The (ADB) head recalled the Marrakech meeting agenda, saying that the event is being held in a special international environment marked by global economy`s deep mutations.

Themed "Africa`s structural transformation", the (ADB) annual meeting will be attended by over 2,500 delegates from 70 countries.
