Mister. Salaheddine MEZOUAR, Minister of Economy and Finance received in Thursday, October 22nd, 2009, at the headquarters of the Ministry, Mr. Philippe de FONTAINE VIVE, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB). They reviewed, together, the progress made on financial cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and EIB.
Thereafter, Messrs MEZOUAR and FONTAINE VIVE signed the guarantee bond for the loan granted by the EIB to the National Company of Motorways in Morocco (ADM) so as to finance two highway sections.
This financing agreement was signed by Mr. de FONTAINE VIVE and Mr. Othmane FASSI FIHRI, General Director of the National Company of Motorways in Morocco (ADM).
This loan of 2.6 billion dirhams aimed to finance the construction of two highway sections by:
- Tripling the Casablanca-Rabat highway over a length of 57 kilometers;
Building the bypass of Rabat to a length of 41 kilometers.
Close of, Mr. MEZOUAR and Mr. FONTAINE VIVE congratulated themselves on the level and quality of the parthnership between Morocco and the BEI. They reasserted their mutual willingness to strengthen this partnership within the framework of the BEI new mandate and the advanced status granted by the European Union to Morocco.
