The sixth meeting of the Strategic Watch Committee

The Strategic Watch Committee held its sixth meeting on Tuesday, September 15th at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Rabat.   

The work sessions of this committee focused mainly on the presentation of the monitoring device of sectoral situations. The recent evolution of sectoral indicators has revealed an attenuation of downturn trend at all sector levels (industry, tourism, OCP and MRE transfers), which indicates, the effectiveness of measures taken by the Government to support sectors presenting difficulties.

Along with monitoring the sectors hit by the financial crisis, the Strategic Watch Committee grants also importance to domestic industries that bring growth in order to optimize employment conditions and create prosperity in these sectors.

In this regard, the Committee focused during this meeting on the real estate sector which has been resistant to the effects of the crisis. However, deep discussions should be conducted, particularly on social housing so as to give more merit to this sector.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Economy and Finance and to which attended the Wali of Bank Al Maghrib, the Ministers of many government departments notably the Agriculture and Maritime Fishing, the Tourism and Handicrafts, the Energy and Mines, the Water and the Environment, the Housing, Urbanism and Spatial Planning, the Trade and Industry and New Technologies, the Moroccans residing abroad, the Economic and General Affairs, the Secretary of State to the Interior Minister, and representatives of various departments Members of this committee.

Also attended to this meeting, the President of the GPBM and CEO of BMCE, the CEO of Attijari-Wafa Bank, President and CEO of BCP, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), the President of the AMITH and the President of the Federation of Tourism.
