Strategic Watch Committee: The Fifth Meeting

The Strategic Watch Committee held its fifth meeting on Wednesday July 15th, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Rabat.

The meeting was devoted to a report on economic developments in the first half, on the impact of anti-crisis measures adopted at sectoral level and on the prospects for closing the year 2009.

The Committee, which paved the way for a profound debate between the various members of the committee, was an opportunity for the Moroccan Professional Banking Group (GPBM) and the Moroccan General Business Confederation (CGEM) to present their views about economic developments and post-crisis prospects.

In the light of this debate, committee members agreed upon the extension of all anti-crisis measures in the next six months with an update of the reference date for eligibility to the social.

Were present in the committee chaired by the Minister of Economy and Finance, the Wali of Bank Al Maghrib, the Ministers of Agriculture and Maritime Fishing, Tourism and Handicrafts, Energy, Mines and Water and Environment Trade and Industry and New Technologies, Employment and Vocational Training, Foreign Trade, the Moroccan Community Residing Abroad, Economic and General Affairs, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Interior, and representatives of various departments of the committee members.

Also took part in this meeting, the CEO of the national Moroccan phosphates company (OCP), the chairman of the GPBM and CEO of BMCE, the CEO of Attijari-Wafa-Bank, the CEO of the BCP, the CEO of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), the President of the Moroccan Association of Textile and Apparel Industries (AMITH), the President of the Moroccan Automobile Industry and Trade Association (AMICA), the President of Tourism Federation, the President of the Foreign Trade National Council.
