Mr. Salaheddine Mezouar, Minister of Economy and Finance, received on Monday June 15th, 2009, at the Ministry, Mr Constantin NITA, Romanian Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Trade and Business Environment. Mr. Constantin NITA is on an official visit to our country.
Mr. Mezouar highlighted the positive impact of Mr. NITA’s visit on developing and strengthening bilateral economic cooperation which remains below the potential and the opportunities offered by both countries. In this respect, the Minister underlined the privileged relationship maintained by Morocco with the EU in which Romania is a member since 2007. |  |

He also pointed out the prospects offered by the advanced status that Morocco enjoys in the EU, and the advantage of the Agreement on Promotion and Protection of Investments between Morocco and Romania so as to develop partnerships based on mutual complementarity and advocating a win-win approach in areas of common interest namely automobile, aeronautics, textiles and mechanics.
Mr. Mezouar highlighted the opportunities for investment that Morocco develops in the context of oriented sectors strategies (Emergence Plan, Green Morocco Plan, Azur Plan) in addition to the new opportunities offered by Tangier Med Port as an export platform to the United States, Africa and the Arab world;
For his part, Mr. Constantine NITA, pointed out that his visit to Morocco reflects the wish of his country to establish Moroccan-Romanian relationship based on cooperation and mutual benefit to operators of both countries.
At the end of their meeting, the two Ministers welcomed their friendly discussions and the willingness of both countries to strengthen their bilateral cooperation.
