Signature of a partnership agreement between the Government and the National Federation of Tourism

Mr. Salah Eddine Mezouar, Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Mohamed BOUSSAID, the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, and Mr. Othman CHERIF ALAMI, the chairman of the National Federation of Tourism (FNT), ratified On Tuesday June 9th, 2009 in Rabat, an agreement of partnership to implement the decisions taken by the Strategic Watch Committee to face the impact of the world crisis on tourism.

 

The agreement is an action plan in several measures namely in the strengthening of communication, the 2009 opening of the new stations of Azur plan (Saidia and Mazagan), the setting up of a relaunch plan dedicated to the city of Marrakech and the launch of promotional campaigns with tour operators.

Furthermore, an additional allocation of 300 million dirham’s will be made available to the Moroccan National office of Tourism to support its actions for the promotion of the country and the development of tourism air services.

This agreement also includes measures for prospecting new markets and maintaining shares in priority ones.

According to this Convention, the Government undertakes to implement an incentive mechanism for the development of tourist residences, meant for rent, which allows to improve ranked hotel capacity and to carry out the Azur Plan.

Moreover, the Government called for the setting up of Mechanisms to support investment and to accompany the implementation of tourism projects as well as hotel renovation.

Professionals in tourism undertake to strengthen staff’s continuing training actions, maintain employment, contribute actively to the promotion of tourism, namely domestic one and improve the distribution channels in key markets by increasing their presence on the internet.
