Under the aegis of His Majesty Mohammed IV, The Second Conference on Public Finance was jointly organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Association for International Foundation of Public Finance in Rabat (Sept 12th through to Sept 14th, 2008).
The subject of this Conference was The restructuring of Public Finance in Morocco and France: Towards Sound Governance of Public Finance. This measure is part of the reforms undertaken by both countries with the aim of controlling public expenditures and mobilizing internal funds, particularly tax revenues.
The debate and exchange of expertise among consultants from both countries revolved around three main issues:
- Reforms related to the management of State budget: How crucial these reforms are and what are the tools to use for their implementation.
- Autonomy and development of local finance.
- Tools for new fiscal governance.
