Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, opened, on June 24, 2026, in Rabat, the second EU-OECD capacity-building workshop dedicated to improving the evidence base on women’s entrepreneurship and access to finance.

Organized within the framework of the project on the economic empowerment of women in the Southern Mediterranean, this workshop brought together representatives from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia.

In her address, the Minister recalled the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Economy and Finance to promote the economic and financial inclusion of women through the adaptation of financing and guarantee instruments, the development of support mechanisms, as well as the strengthening of coordination among public stakeholders, the financial sector, and international partners.

The Minister also highlighted the strategic role of data, particularly gender-disaggregated data, as a driver of inclusion and a tool for supporting public decision-making.

Finally, she invited the participants to formulate concrete and operational recommendations that could be shared and implemented across the countries of the MENA region.
