Rating agency -Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings- upgrades Morocco’s sovereign rating to (BBB-/A-3) with a stable outlook

The rating agency -Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings- announced, on September 26, 2025, the upgrade of Morocco’s sovereign rating from (BB+/B) to (BBB-/A-3), thus allowing the country to regain its Investment Grade status, lost following the Covid-19 crisis. The agency assigned a stable outlook to Morocco’s rating.

​This decision reflects the resilience of the national economy in the face of successive shocks, supported by ongoing reforms aimed at diversifying and formalizing the economy.

The agency particularly highlighted the strength of macroeconomic fundamentals, the relevance of structural reforms, and the diversification of the productive fabric supported by the dynamism of export sectors. The agency also emphasized the important role of the Mohammed VI Investment Fund.

This rating upgrade, supported by political stability, the strength of institutions, and the confidence of investors and international institutions in Morocco, reflects the relevance of the structural reforms and major projects launched under the enlightened leadership of his majesty king Mohammed VI, may God assist him, which have laid the foundations for sustainable and inclusive growth.
