Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, met on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the headquarters of her department, with Mrs. Aurore BERGÉ, French Minister Delegate in charge of Equality between Women and Men and the Fight against Discrimination, who is on a working visit to Morocco.
Mrs. BERGÉ’s visit is part of the new dynamic in Moroccan-French bilateral relations, driven by the new Strengthened Exceptional Partnership established during the French President’s State visit.
During this meeting, Mrs. FETTAH reaffirmed that under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, May God Glorify Him, gender equality is not only a major Royal directive but also a constitutional principle that is receiving increasing attention through numerous initiatives implemented at the national level.
Madam Minister also emphasized the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment, particularly through programs and mechanisms aimed at enhancing their employability, promoting female entrepreneurship, and fostering their economic and social inclusion.
In this context, Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB) is a major strategic lever, whose potential deserves to be further consolidated and better oriented to meet structural challenges related to equal opportunities and the effective participation of women in development.
For her part, Mrs. BERGÉ praised the significant progress made by Morocco in promoting the status of women and their key role in the Moroccan economy.
At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Nadia FETTAH and Mrs. Aurore BERGÉ stated that the promotion of gender equality represents a promising area of cooperation within a framework of ongoing exchange between the two countries.
