Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, presided, March 17, 2025, over the signing ceremony of the legal documentation relating to the financing by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) of the development work on the Nador West Med (NWM) industrial port complex.
On this occasion, Mr. Antoine Salle De Chou - Director of the EBRD in Morocco and Mr. Mohamed Jamal Benjelloun - Managing Director of Société Nador West Med (NWM), signed a €110 million financing contract. This financing is the Bank's third contribution to NWM, confirming its commitment to supporting the Kingdom in the deployment of its strategic projects.
The two officials also signed three donation contracts for a total of around €10 million, raised respectively from the United Kingdom's High Impact Partnership for Climate Action multi-donor fund, represented at the ceremony by the Business Manager at the Embassy, the EBRD's Special Shareholders' Fund and the Global Environment Facility.
In her speech, Mrs. Nadia FETTAH emphasized the importance of launching work on the business park, which marks a new milestone following the completion of the deepwater port. This infrastructure, designed according to international standards, aims to create an ecosystem conducive to investment and trade, thus contributing to the economic development of the Oriental Region.
At the end of the ceremony, Mrs. Nadia FETTAH and EBRD officials expressed their satisfaction at the strength and quality of the cooperative relationship between Morocco and the institution. They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening and deepening this partnership.
